Academia was founded in 1998 by Satomi Asaka-Eguro. After having spent a year at an orphanage In Peru, she realized that it is the education that will determine the future of our world and that it is the lack of understanding foreign language and culture that prevents the world from becoming as global as It ought to be. With these ideas in mind, she started a language school in her own room upon returning her home in Ashikaga, Japan. It all started in her own small room. Soon it was filled with students and Academia, named after the ancient school founded by Plato, was incorporated. Now she has a great partner, her husband Shun, and Academia has two locations in Ashikaga, nurturing the dreams of over a hundred students. Academia now offers not only language instructions but also study abroad programs and international business acceleration services. We are a company with a vision and a huge dream - to create possibilities for anyone who comes by our office. And we can proudly say that our dream is to create dreams for those who visit us.
